The theme of this year&#8217;s edition is &#8216;Vive Les Diff\u00e9rences&#8217;: differences in opinions, technologies, cultures and politics are used as  raw material for creativity. Among others, there was an introduction in the world of <a href=\"#flamenco\">flamenco<\/a>, the current situation in the research on <a href=\"#immersive\">immersive audio<\/a>, <a href=\"#intsong\">international songwriting<\/a>, a session dealing with <a href=\"#feucopy\">european copyright<\/a> and a whole series of <a href=\"#speakers\">inspiring speakers<\/a>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"flamenco\" style=\"font-size:x-large;text-align:center;font-family:helvetica;font-weight: bold;\">Flamenco<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nOn the first day, Michel Gillain and Antonio Paz introduced the students in the world of flamenco and collborated with the students on a song.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_Flamenco-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/antonio.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_ISW_Songwriting1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EBkAt7Vf16g?rel=0&amp;\" showinfo=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" width=\"950\" height=\"535\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"immersive\" style=\"font-size:x-large;text-align:center;font-family:helvetica;font-weight: bold;\">Immersive Audio<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nPXL-Music is pioneering in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/immersive\/\" target=\"_self\">research on immersive audio<\/a> in the music industry. The Internationale Week turned out to be the perfect moment to submerge students, teachers and the music industry in the world of immersive audio. The Belgian representatives of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aes.org\/sections\/view.cfm?section=73\" target=\"_blank\">Audio Engineer Society<\/a> were invited to exchange ideas between the academic and the professional world. With the support of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbaudio.com\/global\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">d&amp;b audiotechnik<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amptec.be\" target=\"_blank\">Amptec<\/a>, the students PA of PXL-Music installed an impressive setup of more than 25 speakers by which the audience could experience first hand what immersive audio feels like.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1347\" =\"\"=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_ImmersiveAudio_Setup-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1347\" =\"\"=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_ImmersiveSetup.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSerge Gr\u00e4fe, FOH-mixer of Kraftwerk, allowed the public a peek into the 3D audio setup of the band, Steven Maes (PXL-Music Research), Jonas Reijniers (UAntwerpen) and Thierry De Vries shared their  research experiences in the domain.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1337\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_Immersive1-1024x688.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_Immersive2-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"intsong\" style=\"font-size:x-large;text-align:center;font-family:helvetica;font-weight: bold;\">International Songwriting<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe students of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/en\/international-songwriting-2019\/\" target=\"_self\">International Songwriting<\/a> project collaborated for a week on songs, inspired by masterclasses of Marie Daulne (Zap Mama) and Johannes Verschaeve (The Van Jets). What will be the impact on the music industry? Rolf Falter (Communication European Parliament) explained the function of the European Parliament, Luc Gulinck and Ioan Kaes of the Belgian rights organisation <a href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/\" target=\"_blank\">PlayRight<\/a> actively negotiated with members of the European Parliament and shared their experiences.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1336\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_EUCopyright-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"speakers\" style=\"font-size:x-large;text-align:center;font-family:helvetica;font-weight: bold;\">Inspirerende sprekers<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThanh Mai shared her experiences as a student in an international exchange programme and focused on the five biggest mistakes you can make as a foreigner in the US. Lander Lenaerts unveiled how he made a <a href=\"https:\/\/jacksels.bandcamp.com\/album\/minor-works\" target=\"_blank\">compilation album<\/a> of the mythical jazz sax player Jack Sels. Alumnus Laurens Decock shared the insights he acquired on his internship at the American <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canvasbackmusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Canvasback Music<\/a>. James Birchall told about running his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wearefuse.co\/\" target=\"_blank\">FUSE ART SPACE<\/a> in the English multicultural town of Bradford.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pxlmusic.be\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IW2019_Lectures-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe studenten had inspiring conversations with Bart Govaert (Vlaams Cultuurhuis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brakkegrond.nl\/en\" target=\"_blank\">de Brakke Grond<\/a>) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.danphelps.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Phelps<\/a> (MODULAR).
